Frank explains why he decided to build Mega Truck!
I wanted to build a truck to show what a 6.0 is about. The engine is strong and basically runs all weekend long with the a/c running. I work on them daily and have for many years. The mud game was exciting to me so I decided to throw in something big and nice with what I was doing so much within the shop. Truck was originally started at Twisted Metal Offroad in Tampa, FL and finally finished up at Twisted Metal Performance in Frostproof, FL. Several people had a hand in helping me build it and lots of life lessons learned along the way. Truck was in a mess at one point and took the help of Wendell Guy to help me out. The bolt on cradle with the wild bends and design just made it difficult to work with. I am getting the things together to soon build another setup similar to his truck with the things I’ve learned to make it even better.
I’ve always been into trucks and that’s how most everyone knows me. After graduating from Frostproof High school I attended Florida Southern college in Lakeland, FL and graduated with a business degree. I started working on my own 7.3 Powerstroke trying to see how far I could push it, making it faster and faster. This is where the diesel part of my life started. After spraying it with so much Nitrous that it cracked the block, I replaced it with a twin turbo 12 valve Cummins. I wanted to keep going and going with it and started my own shop working on diesels.
I have a 7 year old son who lives at my shop with me and does just about everything I do. We travel and fish a lot together and frequent the Bahamas Islands of Bimini and Grand Bahama in my boat. I’m also a pilot and like to go up and enjoy the freedom of flight. Its always impossible until you do it.
